About This Recipe


A simple quick Chinese style stir fry sauce that brings together salty, sweet, sour and savoury flavours and goes perfectly with vegetables and tofu (or any other protein).

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetarian Oyster Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar (Brown or White)
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 3-4 Tbsp Vegetable Stock (or Shiitake Kombu Dashi see notes)
  • 1 tsp Ginger minced
  • 2-3 Garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 Tbsp Corn Starch
  • 1/2 tsp Chilli Oil (optional)

Instructions

    Mix the corn starch with 2 Tbsp of water first and then put all the ingredients into a medium bowl and whisk till combined.


    Adjust the sweetness/saltiness to suit your personal taste


    Stir fry your favourite vegetables and protein and add the stir fry sauce when vegetables are still tender crisp and stir till the sauce thickens and coats the vegetables.

Notes

Fresh garlic and ginger is essential to get that aromatic savoury punch and spiciness.
